The String Cheese Incident

The String Cheese Incident, commonly referred to as SCI, is a pioneering band in the American jam band scene. Formed in Crested Butte, Colorado, in 1993, the band consists of Michael Kang (acoustic/electric mandolin, violin, and vocals), Michael Travis (drums and percussion, vocals), Bill Nershi (acoustic guitar, lap steel guitar, and vocals), Kyle Hollingsworth (piano, organ, Rhodes, and accordion), and Keith Moseley (bass guitar). Jason Hann was added later to the mix to bolster the rhythmic element of the band.

Taking influence from a wide range of music styles - including bluegrass, rock, electronica, country, funk, jazz, Latin, reggae, and more - The String Cheese Incident are well known for their distinctive, eclectic sound and high-energy live performances.
